Ever wonder why it is that the potency of Judaism inspired two major world religions, yet the richness of its wisdom remains unknown to most Jews, let alone the world-at-large?

Walking Stick Foundation
Celebrating more than 25 years of sharing Wisdom and Empowerment in support of a more balanced Life Walk
Walking Stick Foundation is a non-profit, tax-exempt educational organization, founded in 1997 and dedicated to the restoration of lesser-known, hidden-away ancient Jewish wisdom whose timely guidance in addressing our contemporary life walk beckons to be liberated from centuries of entombment in antiquated Aramaic and Hebraic texts gathering dust in the forgotten archives of academia. The richness of these nuggets carry the solutions to the conundrum of dwindling Jewish affiliation and the increased disenfranchisement of many for whom Judaism is perceived as an archaic remnant of a tradition bereft of personal meaning and relevance when in essence that is exactly what it’s about.
“An evolutionary leap in Hebrew mystical consciousness.”

“As a western-trained physician, I was initially skeptical going into my work with Rabbi Maron. It did not take me long to realize, th0ugh, that this was a deep delving into the mysteries of the Hebrew tradition as they relate to my arrival on this Earth-walk. Her commitment to thoroughly researching the sources related to my Hebrew astrology reading, and the reading itself, felt purposeful, acknowledging, and uncannily congruent with my personal circumstances. Her use of ancient teachings, song, chant, and imagery gently opens the gates to access the soul, allowing healing shifts within the realms of psyche and spirit, which can help to bring forth a more fully-realized Self.”

Torah Reboot Translation Project
No body of literature has had as profound an effect on the course of world history – for better, or for worse -- as has the Torah, the central pivotal text of the so-called Old Testament, a sacred compendium of ancient narratives about the turbulent, yet inspirational relationship dynamics between an insular people and a universal God. One of the ways in which the Walking Stick Foundation endeavors to effect change is its commitment to its Torah Reboot Venture, a project in progress that offers a fresh user-friendly re-translation of the Torah, the very impetus responsible for the birth and rise of two global religions, yet largely misquoted, misunderstood and –worse -- mistranslated from its original oriental vernacular for centuries. Consequently, this rich historic document continues to be rendered in a language and tone that more reflects the mindset of Medieval Europe than of Ancient Israel.
Our era cries out for the Torah to speak from a place of inspiration and empowerment, not from a place of judgment and constraint, and in a way that addresses the issues and concerns of our own times. The Hebrew original plus the cosmology that it spawned offers this if we only re-translate the text within the overall context of this magical body of ancient scripture while remaining true to the language in which it originated. Amply footnoted with supportive material from classical rabbinic exegetical as well as etymological sources, the project includes illuminating annotations to further enrich the reader’s understanding of the narrative and the ideology it enwombed.

Ashina: Individual Spiritual Guidance
Finding meaning in one’s life walk is a personal journey. Ashina is Rabbi Miriam Maron’s program of providing individual guidance and mentoring globally via phone, Skype or in person and in ways that challenge each individual to discover and define for themselves – as well as become empowered by -- the gift of their uniqueness. Through guided meditation and deep trauma healing, she has helped many across the U.S. and beyond in ways that have sparked significant transformative shifts in their lives. Ashina is Hebrew for “I will transform,” and is also the name of the Siberian shamanic Clan of the Grey She-Wolf, an entire Asiatic tribe that converted to Judaism in the 8th century, forging a major creative leap in Jewish history and, in particular, the Ashkenazic culture.

"I had problems with headaches, and since our first session years ago, I have never had another headache (this is not an exaggeration). Her unique perspective as a Jewish healer addresses spiritual and faith issues not dealt with by standard medical therapy, and her thoughtful and gentle manner was a valuable catalyst in guiding my own healing. She shared an extra-ordinary amount of valuable insight which I found fascinating. She tied together many aspects of my life, which, made perfect sense. I cannot thank her enough for her spiritual guidance and Jewish insights into the healing process."
S.G., MD, Family Physician, Texas “I owe so much of my post-injury mobility and sanity to my work with Miriam. I was very impressed with her knowledge and her delivery, which have helped me in my everyday life. When I get stuck, she helps unstick me. She helps me see pathways that I didn't know were there." CG, Idyllwild, CA "Since my session with Miriam, I no longer have Irritable Bowel Syndrome. I never told her I had it, but she kept touching my stomach and did chants or prayers, and it worked! This is the first time I have not suffered from it." Judy Molnar, Fountain Valley, CA “I have sought healing from many experts in various fields for issues incurred in my childhood, but I have never experienced such profound emotional and spiritual healing as I have received from Miriam. Her sessions are marked by her gentle strength, compassion, humility, insight, and an unwavering commitment to her client's wellbeing." Paula Bojsen, Reiki Master Teacher, Gendai Reiki Shihan, “Rabbi Miriam Maron is that extraordinary combination of clinician, mystic, musician and shaman whose talent at integrating those skills will launch you on a dramatic healing journey; I love working with her.” [The late] Carl Hammerschlag, MD, author of Dancing Healers and Theft of the Spirit |
“Rabbi Miriam Maron is an incomparable healer who embodies the capacities, skills, and knowledge requisite of a shamanic master. Her humor, insight, and chant soothe away all heartaches.”
Dr. Avram Rubin, MA, PhD, Psychotherapist, Sefad, Israel "One healing session with Miriam took me deep, deep, deep into the heart of what's troubled me all my life. I feel like I've recovered a huge piece of my soul and I now understand, in a way I never did before, what it really means to ‘choose life’. Miriam is incredibly gentle, wise, and intuitive, and her healing sessions are a true team effort." JGK, MSW, Maryland "Sessions with Miriam, both in person and by long distance, have been invaluable to me. The sense of wellness and wholeness I have been feeling, even weeks and months after her sessions, has brought me great peace." Betty Jampel, MSW., Maplewood, NJ “I have had about 10 healing sessions with Miriam. Each one has been powerful in its own right. I have experienced physical healings, emotional healings, spiritual healings, and spiritual growth. I entered each session with specific conscious needs and desires, all of which were addressed. As a healer myself (massage therapist), Miriam's healings have resulted in greatly enhancing my own healing capabilities.” Karen J. P. Binney, MBA, CMT, LLCC, Charlottesville, VA “Miriam is an inspirational and gifted healer whose intuitive skills and soulful voice reconnected me to my dreams and strengths. Her presence is a soothing gift I enjoy revisiting time after time.” Leesa Sklover- Filgate, PhD, Music Therapist, Sandy Hook, CT “As a teacher and healer, Miriam is more than just a lantern in the darkness. She is the ferryman who carries you across the waters to new and distant shores.” Nessa Lear, BSN, New Rochelle, NY |

The Goal of Walking Stick Foundation is to foster greater and more widespread fruition of what we have seeded over the years -- transforming lives by brushing the dust of Sinai from off of the ancient Torah so that she might enlighten us and empower us in respect to the issues we are facing today, personally and globally. Your support of our endeavors makes you an integral part of them, and your donations remain tax-deductible as they have been since 1997. Our Tax ID is 86-0876185.
Walking Stick Foundation continues to this day as a modest, subtle but potent behind-the-scenes resource of pragmatic life wisdom and inspiration elucidated by Rabbi Gershon Winkler, PhD and Rabbi Miriam Ashina Maron, PhD. Together, they have helped many people of all ages, races and cultures worldwide grapple with the challenges of their personal and communal unfolding by drawing abundantly from a rich treasure of lesser-promulgated ancient and early-medieval Hebraic and Aramaic source texts and oral traditions and through empowering rituals and ceremonies intended to enrich our journey through the gauntlet of questions and concerns, personal and collective, as we search for ever-elusive meaning in a purpose-driven culture.
Our goal is to foster toward greater and more widespread fruition what we have seeded over the years, and to do for more people monthly what we have done for a few people annually: transforming lives by transforming perspectives and by brushing the dust of Sinai from off of the ancient Torah so that she might enlighten us in respect to the issues we are facing today, personally and globally.
This is our passion. This is our conviction. And it is our vision to go forward with it, to bring it out of the lab, so to speak, to avail our work to as many as we can through newsletter-teachings, webinars, books, retreats, CD’s, DVD’s, workshops, seasonal ceremonies, and the medium of the media.
